Commemorative Coin Issued for the 50th Anniversary of Hallasan National Park Designation
Reservation Accepted at NongHyup and Woori Bank from 6th to 20th... Issuance on October 24th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Chang-won] A commemorative coin (silver coin) celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hallasan National Park, capturing the beautiful scenery of Baengnokdam Crater Lake on Hallasan, will be issued.
The World Heritage Headquarters announced on the 5th that to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hallasan National Park this year and to promote and enhance the sustainable value of Hallasan, a commemorative coin will be issued on September 24.
The front side of the commemorative coin features Baengnokdam, representing Hallasan, while the reverse side depicts the flagship species of Hallasan National Park, the Kusang tree and the Mountain Chimney Butterfly.
The face value is 50,000 won. It is a 40mm diameter round coin, weighing 31.1g (99.9% silver).
The commemorative coin will be issued together with those of Wolaksan, Gyeryongsan, and Taeanhaean National Parks, and the four can be purchased as a set.
The selling price is 63,000 won for a single coin and 243,000 won for the set of four.
Purchases of the commemorative coin will be accepted by reservation from the 6th to the 20th, and delivery will begin on October 20. If the number of applications exceeds the limit, winners will be selected by lottery.
Anyone can apply for purchase by bringing an ID card and visiting NongHyup Bank or Woori Bank branches to fill out and submit an application form.
Applications can also be made via virtual accounts by visiting the websites of NongHyup Bank, Woori Bank, or the Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation’s online shopping mall.
