KOSPI Approaches 2300 Level... KOSDAQ Surpasses 840 Level
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The KOSPI, which surpassed its previous high, continued its upward trend on the 5th, approaching the 2300 mark. The KOSDAQ index also maintained its strength, breaking through the 840 level during the session.
On this day, the KOSPI rose to 2299.98 during the morning session, coming very close to the 2300 level. As of 10:37 AM, individual investors purchased stocks worth 286.3 billion KRW in the KOSPI market, while foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 63.1 billion KRW and 208.1 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix showed weakness, falling by 1.22% and 1.10% respectively compared to the previous trading day. However, Samsung Biologics (4.76%), LG Chem (3.43%), Celltrion (1.82%), and Samsung SDI (7.33%) rose.
The KOSDAQ index has been setting new highs consecutively. Closing at 835.35 the previous day, the KOSDAQ index rose 0.85% to 842.44 during the session. By investor type, individuals and foreigners were net buyers of 7 billion KRW and 18.5 billion KRW respectively, while institutions were net sellers of 15.8 billion KRW.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Celltrion Healthcare (2.26%), Seegene (0.36%), HL Biopharma (0.97%), Celltrion Pharm (2.87%), and Genexine (0.54%) rose. KMV and SK Materials fell by 0.71% and 0.91%, respectively.
