On the 4th, Kim appeared on CBS's 'Sisa Jaki Jung Kwan-yong' and argued, "Isn't the Prosecutor General just making a fundamental statement? I wonder if there is any need to assign excessive meaning to that issue."
He added, "Regarding the prosecution's overreach, Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae is putting her utmost effort into normalizing it. If we leave (Prosecutor General Yoon) alone for a bit, I believe Minister Choo will handle it to that extent."
Regarding the reaction of many ruling party lawmakers, including Park Joo-min, who are responding to Prosecutor General Yoon with comments like 'Isn't he engaging in politics?', he said, "The more they react like that, the more Prosecutor General Yoon appears to be a great political leader. I hope they don't assign too much meaning."
When asked, "Do you think Prosecutor General Yoon has political intentions?" he replied, "How can anyone know people's intentions? Still, he is the Prosecutor General appointed by President Moon Jae-in. The President must have made various judgments about (Prosecutor General Yoon), so we need to watch a little longer."
Earlier, on the 3rd, Prosecutor General Yoon said at the commissioning ceremony for new prosecutors, "The core value of the Constitution, liberal democracy, refers to true democracy that rejects dictatorship and totalitarianism disguised as democracy," and added, "Liberal democracy is realized through the rule of law."
