Yeosu City Achieves Results with 'Yeosu Citizen Bonus System' for Workforce Recruitment at National Industrial Complex Partner Companies
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) is seeing its 'Yeosu Citizen Bonus Point System,' promoted through agreements with seven companies in the national industrial complex, shine amid the worst unemployment crisis.
According to the city, Namhae Chemical Co., Ltd. (CEO Ha Hyung-soo) announced on the 4th that in the first half of the year recruitment, which closed in July, it hired 7 local talents, accounting for 64% of the total 11 new hires.
Since signing the agreement in 2017, Namhae Chemical Co., Ltd. has hired 34 local talents from Yeosu out of 54 total hires, accounting for 63%, contributing to resolving youth unemployment and increasing the population in Yeosu.
A representative from Namhae Chemical said, "We will continue to strive to be a company that develops together with the residents of Yeosu through the ongoing implementation of the bonus point system."
Meanwhile, the companies applying the Yeosu Citizen Bonus Point System during recruitment are GS Caltex Co., Ltd., Namhae Chemical Co., Ltd., Hanwha Solutions Co., Ltd., Kumho Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Kumho Mitsui Chemicals Co., Ltd., Kumho P&B Chemicals Co., Ltd., and Kumho Polychem Co., Ltd.?a total of seven companies. So far, out of 464 total hires, 269 have been Yeosu citizens, achieving a 58% hiring rate.
