The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has designated the period until September 23 as the intensive support period for preparing for the 2021 college early admission process and decided to provide personalized admission information in various ways.
The intensive support period aims to guide early admission application strategies to high school seniors, graduates, and examinees from the qualification exam who have difficulty obtaining college admission information due to the cancellation of the 2020 college entrance counseling camp caused by COVID-19.
During this period, various admission information services such as online and offline briefings, one-on-one face-to-face counseling, and Q&A sessions linked with universities will be provided.
The online admission briefing will be held on August 27 at 7 p.m. for high school seniors and parents, providing an overall explanation of the 2021 early admission application strategies through a live broadcast.
The offline admission briefing will be held in early September, targeting high school seniors and parents, mainly at major universities in the Seoul area.
To strengthen the counseling capabilities of high school senior homeroom teachers, from July 20 to 30, an eight-day university admission briefing for teachers was held at the Sohyang Art Hall of Dongseo University, focusing on universities in the Seoul area.
Offline one-on-one face-to-face counseling will be conducted for ten days from July 31 to August 13 at the Busan Career and Admission Support Center. Between 12 and 18 specialized counselors from the Admission Support Team will provide counseling for 3 to 6 hours daily.
For students who missed the counseling application period or need additional support, extra counseling will be held for two days from September 5 to 6.
Through the themed offline group counseling format ‘College Admission Empathy Smart Talk’ with admission officers, programs for examinees and parents preparing for education and medical universities will be operated on August 19 and 26.
This program will be available for viewing on the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education’s ‘College Admission Empathy Smart Talk’ YouTube channel.
Online counseling will be conducted in real-time through the mobile band ‘Busan JinHakGil Majung’ counseling, the Career and Admission Support Center website counseling, and the college admission counseling call center phone counseling.
University-linked Q&A sessions will also be held. On the Career and Admission Support Center website, under the nationwide major universities’ early admission data section ‘At a Glance,’ users can access university-specific linked Q&A or input their questions directly to receive answers from admissions officers.
Additionally, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will provide schools with various admission counseling materials produced by the Busan Admission Support Team, including programs for calculating converted scores by university and admission type for the 2021 early admission, early admission counseling programs for four-year universities and junior colleges, reference tables for regular admission based on the June mock exam, and regular admission counseling programs.
Related materials will be uploaded on the Busan Career and Admission Support Center website for examinees. In particular, to assist early admission applicants even after submitting applications, both face-to-face and non-face-to-face mock interviews will be prepared.
