According to military officials on the 3rd, the Army Capital Defense Command will conduct Lee Won-ho's trial at the ordinary military court of the command in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, on the 7th.
Lee Won-ho was arrested and indicted in May by the military court on charges of distributing hundreds of sexual exploitation materials targeting minors and women on Baksa Bang and promoting Baksa Bang externally (violations of the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse, etc.). He is identified as 'Lee Gi-ya,' one of the three co-operators of Baksa Bang revealed by Jo Joo-bin's lawyer.
Earlier, the Army disclosed Lee Won-ho's real name, age, and face (photo), stating that "Lee Won-ho actively participated in recruiting participants for Baksa Bang and producing and distributing sexual exploitation videos."
Generally, military court trials are conducted publicly, but since the military court is located within the unit, civilian access is not free, and due to the nature of the sex crime, public access may be limited.
If public access is decided, it is also possible that Lee Won-ho, who is detained in pretrial detention within the Capital Defense Command's premises, will be publicly revealed to the media for the first time. When his identity was disclosed, the Army only released a photo of Lee Won-ho's ID card.
