Korea Railroad (Korail) announced that train operations on the entire Jungang Line section from Yeongyo to Guhak resumed from 6 a.m. on the 3rd. The first train is Mugunghwa-ho (#1628), departing from Jecheon at 6:55 a.m. heading to Cheongnyangni.
Train operations between Daejeon and Chungju on the Chungbuk Line, which had also been suspended at the same time, have resumed. However, restoration work is still ongoing on the Chungju-Jecheon section of the Chungbuk Line, the entire Taebaek Line (Jecheon to Donghae), and the Yeongdong Line (Yeongju to Donghae), so train operations remain suspended as they were the previous day.
A Korail official stated, “Overnight restoration work has allowed train operations to resume on the entire Jungang Line and some sections of the Chungbuk Line, but due to the extensive damage caused by the heavy rain, additional time will be required for restoration work on other lines. Korail will do its best to restore the suspended train lines safely and quickly.”
