"Discovering Game Streaming Services" LGU+ and AfreecaTV Join Hands
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG Uplus and AfreecaTV signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 3rd to discover game broadcasting services.
Through this MOU, the two companies plan to conduct joint marketing utilizing e-sports. They will jointly develop platform services related to game broadcasting by integrating 5G technologies such as multiview and virtual reality (VR), and establish a task force (TF) team to promote the development of new types of game broadcasting services including broadcast relay and cloud gaming. LG Uplus will support the use of its multiview technology know-how, previously applied to professional baseball, golf, idol, and game live broadcasts, on AfreecaTV's broadcasting platform. As part of the joint marketing, AfreecaTV will provide U+5G plan subscribers with a 6-month free pass for AfreecaTV’s ‘Quick View’ service.
