On the 2nd, JTBC's variety show 'We Must Play Soccer' aired, featuring the members of Eojjeoda FC participating in their first soccer tournament since appearing on the show.
During the broadcast, Ahn Jung-hwan revealed, "During the last game, Lee Hyung-taek sustained a rib fracture due to injury."
Kim Yong-man expressed concern, saying, "In terms of the 2002 World Cup, he is playing the role of Hong Myung-bo," referring to Lee Hyung-taek's injury.
In response, Park Tae-hwan said, "We need to protect (Lee Hyung-taek) today. Dae-hoon, we have to run more," to which Lee Dae-hoon added, "We have to block the physical challenges for him."
Hearing this, Lee Hyung-taek said, "I thought it was just a bruise, but after getting an X-ray, it turned out to be a fracture."
Then Heo Jae remarked, "Who hasn't broken a rib while exercising?"
Following that, Kim Byung-hyun joked, "Usually, athletes endure until the tournament ends, but it seems tennis players are a bit weaker," eliciting laughter.
Kim Dong-hyun, who was nearby, added, "Getting hit is part of our job. There are about a dozen ribs; one broken rib is no big deal," to which Lee Hyung-taek responded with a laugh, "Ah, I'll run, I'll run."
In response, Ahn Jung-hwan said, "Since he's not a professional player, we'll assess his condition and make a decision."
Later, Eojjeoda FC participated in their first tournament since their founding one year ago, facing Seongmi Soccer Club, the previous year's champions of the Mapo-gu soccer tournament, in the Group A preliminaries.
Kim Yong-man introduced Seongmi Soccer Club, saying, "If this were the World Cup, the first match would be against Germany."
Despite his rib injury, Lee Hyung-taek checked his condition and decided to play, receiving painkillers to participate in the match.
The game was intense from the start, with Lee Dae-hoon scoring the opening goal.
Then Park Tae-hwan scored a clever goal, sealing the victory at 2-0.
