81 Cases of Damage Reported Including Bridge Collapse and Flooding of Houses and Crops
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Iksan City, Jeonbuk, is focusing its administrative efforts to quickly restore damage caused by heavy rain.
According to the city on the 1st, Iksan area recorded a cumulative rainfall of 126mm due to heavy rain until the 31st of last month, causing 81 cases of various damages including bridge and retaining wall collapses, house flooding, and crop damage.
In this regard, Jeong Heon-yul, mayor of Iksan, visited the collapsed bridge site in Nangsang-myeon where emergency restoration is underway due to damage caused by the heavy rain, and encouraged the staff engaged in emergency restoration.
Mayor Jeong said, "A large amount of rain fell at once, causing various damages such as flooding of farmland and houses," and added, "We will mobilize all administrative power to ensure prompt damage investigation and restoration."

The city plans to complete the emergency restoration of the Nangsang-myeon bridge, then proceed with administrative procedures to finish the reinstallation construction by the first half of next year, and actively restore some public facilities, houses, and farmland that were damaged.
