Welcome Savings Bank Takes Initiative to Revive Local Bookstores
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] Welcome Savings Bank has taken steps to support local bookstores.
Welcome Savings Bank announced on the 31st that it will carry out the 'Good Reading Campaign' to help local bookstores struggling due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
With school openings delayed and normal classes not being conducted due to COVID-19, local bookstores supplying books to schools are facing great difficulties. In response, Welcome Savings Bank decided to assist these struggling local bookstores by purchasing large quantities of books that employees want to read.
Recently, Welcome Savings Bank purchased 540 books worth about 10 million KRW through the bookstore cooperative associations located in Guro and Geumcheon districts in Seoul.
