Starting from Siheung 3-dong on the 30th, a COVID-19 prevention campaign, key facility inspections, and civil complaint site visits will be conducted in 10 districts until mid-November, marking the 2nd anniversary of the 7th local government with on-site communication efforts.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yuseonghun, the mayor of Geumcheon-gu, is once again embarking on field-centered communication administration to mark the 2nd anniversary of the 7th local government.
Starting from Siheung 3-dong on the 30th, Mayor Yuseonghun will continue his livelihood activities as the ‘Dong(e) Beonjeok Alley Mayor’ in 10 neighborhoods until mid-November.
‘Dong(e) Beonjeok Alley Mayor’ was prepared to expand opportunities for communication with residents during the period when the COVID-19 situation has become normalized. The mayor works as a one-day head of the neighborhood community center, sharing and comforting the inconveniences and hardships of daily life caused by COVID-19 through livelihood activities.
On the 30th, Mayor Yuseonghun began his day as the alley mayor with a neighborhood patrol at 7:40 a.m. in Siheung 3-dong. He spent time communicating with office workers, who usually have fewer opportunities to interact, during their commute. After starting work, he served as a one-day head at the community center, providing civil complaint guidance and administrative services, creating a natural communication space with residents.
In particular, on that morning, Mayor Yuseonghun visited resident convenience facilities within the Southern Road Office in Siheung 3-dong to inspect facilities such as the bathhouse, small library, and health center to ensure no inconvenience to residents before the opening. He then visited the ‘Youngjae Regional Child Center’ and ‘Borin Housing Branch 2’ to check on their operational status.
In the afternoon, he toured various sites including the planned site for the ‘Saegil Science Museum,’ ‘Bethel Care Counseling Center,’ ‘Nanum Store,’ ‘Hanuri Daycare Center,’ vulnerable areas for rainy season preparedness, outdoor heat shelters, and homes of neighbors in need, inspecting livelihood issues.
‘Dong(e) Beonjeok Alley Mayor’ will be flexibly operated in 10 neighborhoods from Siheung 3-dong until mid-November. The district plans to carefully review resident proposals and suggestions received during the schedule and reflect them in district administration.
