Kumho Petrochemical had considered postponing the event this year due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, but decided to proceed with the event to contribute to stabilizing the blood supply amid the decrease in blood donations caused by COVID-19. Inside the blood donation bus, participating employees strictly followed COVID-19 prevention guidelines such as mandatory hand sanitization, mask-wearing, and temperature checks to ensure safety.
Meanwhile, Kumho Petrochemical has been conducting employee blood donation events annually with the Korean Red Cross since 2012. This event was held for employees at Kumho Petrochemical’s headquarters, and the company prepared separate gifts for donors who donated blood certificates to encourage more certificate donations.
In addition, Kumho Petrochemical donated 2 million medical latex gloves (worth approximately 300 million KRW) to the Korean Red Cross for the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, which have been struggling due to the spread of COVID-19 this year.
