The Resident Participation Research Group, consisting of 48 members, is organized into four divisions: education administration, health and welfare, safety and environment; culture, tourism, and sports; industrial economy and jobs; and agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and forestry.
At the first meeting held along with the launching ceremony, the direction and understanding of the county government's comprehensive development plan were enhanced, and division-specific meetings were held. Subsequently, they plan to discuss field opinions collected through on-site meetings and online channels, as well as the development of major projects by region and sector.
Since the kickoff briefing session in May, the county has been striving to develop policies through resident participation while collecting diverse opinions from residents to establish a sustainable and future-oriented comprehensive development plan.
Accordingly, a preliminary survey was conducted targeting about 600 residents, and opinions from various sectors were shared through meetings with the county council and interviews with each department, setting the direction for the mid- to long-term plan.
In particular, by focusing on increasing resident participation through resident policy proposals and the operation of the Resident Participation Research Group, Haenam-gun is expected to establish a comprehensive development plan that serves as a model case for resident-participatory policy development and contribute to strengthening resident autonomy capabilities in the future.
Policy proposals received through the county website and SNS amount to 12, and visions and slogans total 90.
Haenam-gun plans to conduct basic data collection and field surveys by policy area to proactively respond to domestic and international conditions and government policies, along with interviews with local leaders and expert meetings.
