"Dengue Fever Hospitalization... Stay Strong and Undergo Inspection" Jin Joong-kwon Posts Photos of Jeong Jin-woong and Shin Jung-hwan Side by Side
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon commented on the photo of Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeong Jin-ung (29th Judicial Research and Training Institute) of the investigation team for the 'alleged collusion between prosecutors and media' being hospitalized after a physical altercation with Chief Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon (27th Judicial Research and Training Institute), saying, "Wishing you a speedy recovery" and "You need to stay strong and undergo the inspection."
On the 29th, Jin posted on his Facebook a photo showing the hospitalized Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeong alongside Shin Jeong-hwan. Shin, who was previously accused of overseas gambling, had claimed before being caught by investigative authorities that he was hospitalized due to dengue fever in the Philippines and had shared hospital photos on his fan cafe. Later, Shin's claim was revealed to be a lie to evade investigation, drawing public criticism.
In another post on the same day, Jin stated, "The key point is who attacked first," and argued, "Did Chief Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon collapse from dizziness? What Jeong Jin-ung is saying is that the guy slapped my fist wildly on his cheek and kicked my boot wildly on his stomach."
Earlier, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeong, who was accused by Chief Prosecutor Han of assault, claimed, "There was only physical contact in the process of restraining Chief Prosecutor Han's actions that obstructed the search and seizure."
Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeong released a statement explaining, "During the search and seizure, Chief Prosecutor Han wanted to contact his lawyer via cellphone, so I allowed it," and added, "When I saw Han inputting something, I moved around the table to his right side and saw him sitting and entering a password, with only the last character remaining."
He further explained, "I judged that if Chief Prosecutor Han entered the password, there could be issues such as deletion of seized items, so I tried to directly obtain the cellphone from him."
Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeong claimed that he did not knock down Chief Prosecutor Han but that both lost balance and fell together during the process.
He said, "Chief Prosecutor Han stretched his hand holding the cellphone to the opposite side to avoid having it taken away, and as I reached my arm toward him, we both lost balance and fell to the floor together," adding, "It was only a process of effectively securing the seizure target (cellphone) while restraining Han's refusal to surrender the item. I did not throw my body over the table, nor did I intentionally grab or push Han's arm or shoulder to knock him down."

Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeong also disclosed a photo of himself receiving treatment in a general hospital emergency room, stating that after Chief Prosecutor Han's lawyer arrived, his blood pressure spiked, and he was treated in the emergency room. He said, "Despite the situation, Chief Prosecutor Han's accusation of 'abuse of authority' is intended to obstruct the investigation," and added, "I plan to file a complaint for false accusation and defamation by false facts."
