KOSPI Closes Up at 2263.16 Driven by Net Buying from Foreigners and Individuals
Foreigners Net Buy Samsung Electronics for Four Consecutive Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The KOSPI closed higher due to net buying by foreigners and individuals.
On the 29th, the KOSPI ended the session at 2263.16, up 0.27% (6.17 points) from the previous session. The KOSPI started the day at 2258.35, up 0.06% (1.36 points) from the previous close, and after fluctuating throughout the day, it closed higher.
In the KOSPI market that day, foreigners and individuals bought stocks worth 293.2 billion KRW and 48.6 billion KRW, respectively. Institutions were the sole sellers, offloading stocks worth 337.6 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics recorded 59,000 KRW, up 0.68% from the previous session. Other stocks that rose included SK Hynix (0.12%), Naver (1.39%), Kakao (0.61%), and Hyundai Motor (1.63%). On that day, Samsung Electronics surged to as high as 60,400 KRW during the session as foreigners continued net buying for the fourth consecutive trading day.
The KOSDAQ index closed at 808.59, up 0.09% (0.74 points) from the previous session. The index started at 807.71, down 0.02% (0.14 points) from the previous close, and after alternating between gains and losses, it closed higher. In the KOSDAQ market, individuals bought stocks worth 189.3 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 2.6 billion KRW and 167.1 billion KRW, respectively.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Seegene traded at 21,000 KRW, up 9.67% from the previous day. Genexine (0.31%), CJ ENM (0.6%), Pearl Abyss (0.62%), and SK Materials (0.43%) also rose.
