KCTU Conveys Social Safety Net Strengthening and Public Sector Issues During Disasters
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Hong Nam-ki met with Kim Dong-myeong, Chairman of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU), to urge the implementation of the tripartite agreement.
On the 29th, Deputy Prime Minister Hong referred to the tripartite agreement signed the previous day by the Economic, Social and Labor Council, emphasizing the importance of sincere implementation by labor, management, and government to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. This was the first time in 75 years that a Deputy Prime Minister visited the office of the FKTU Chairman for a meeting.
Deputy Prime Minister Hong also introduced government measures to resolve employment issues and policies to expand employment and social safety nets.
