Homeplus Launches 'Cookbang Variety Show'... Showcasing Fresh Foods Like Kkotgalbisal and Watermelon
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Homeplus announced on the 29th that it will launch an entertainment program called ‘Brightening Your Daily Life’ for ‘home cooks’ who cook at home. It is a TV entertainment program where experts in food, beauty, and interior design share their secrets.
The food segment is conducted as an online cooking class featuring Chef Lim Seong-geun, the winner of ‘Korean Food Battle Season 3,’ introducing ‘Lim Seong-geun’s signature recipes.’ The cast purchases fresh ingredients directly from Homeplus stores according to each episode’s theme and shares shopping tips and cooking secrets. Actress Park Eun-hye and former supermodel and broadcaster Han Young serve as MCs.
The first broadcast on the 30th will focus on easy recipes tailored for summer vacations, featuring dishes such as perilla powder seasoning flower ribeye steak, flower ribeye chopstick stir-fry, cold cham songi mushroom salad, and watermelon hwachae.
In line with this, Homeplus will offer a 20% discount on U.S.-sourced flower ribeye for My Homeplus members at nationwide stores and online malls from the 30th to August 5th. Customers paying with event cards will also receive a 3,000 won discount on seedless and famous-origin watermelons.
Going forward, Homeplus will promote recipe-related products featured in each episode as main promotions in flyers to assist home cooks shopping for fresh ingredients at Homeplus. The program will air biweekly on Thursdays on SBS F!L until December 10th and will also be available on SBS MTV.
