View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Home&Shopping (CEO Kim Ok-chan) announced on the 29th that it will carry out the 'Basic Education Project for Children's Life Safety Swimming' together with the Park Tae-hwan Swimming Science Promotion Foundation (Director Park Tae-hwan, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation). This project is part of the social contribution business agreement (MOU) signed with the Foundation in May to promote youth sports participation and life safety swimming.
The project, aimed at "becoming familiar with water," targets children aged 5 to 8 in Incheon. Due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, group lessons are currently difficult, but it plans to provide free life safety swimming education to about 1,600 children in the second half of this year.
The first education session, which began on the 28th for children at childcare facilities affiliated with the Foundation, was attended by Director Park Tae-hwan, who also held a commemorative ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Lee Won-seop, Vice President of Home&Shopping, Kim Jang-sung, Chairman of the Foundation, and others. Home&Shopping plans to continuously support activities conducted by the Foundation, including nurturing sports talents, researching and distributing advanced swimming programs, supporting socially vulnerable groups, and aquatic rehabilitation exercises for the disabled.
