On the 28th, Park issued a statement saying, "The agreement is false and fabricated, and I am considering legal action against Joo Ho-young, the floor leader of the United Future Party," expressing his stance.
That morning, Floor Leader Joo appeared on YTN Radio and stated that the copy of the agreement disclosed at the previous day's confirmation hearing was obtained through a tip from a former high-ranking public official.
Park said, "Joo's claim is a serious defamation of the special envoy group that secured the 2000 inter-Korean summit agreement with former President Kim Dae-jung," and warned, "I will review the legality of Joo's media interview statements and hold him legally accountable, telling him not to hide behind parliamentary immunity but to make it official."
Park emphasized, "At a National Assembly press conference on the 28th, Joo and Representative Ha Tae-kyung said, 'The president can ask the Blue House National Security Office Chief (Suh Hoon) to verify the authenticity,' but we have already inquired with the special envoy group and received confirmation that they 'have no recollection and that it is not true.'"
Meanwhile, the National Assembly Intelligence Committee adopted the confirmation hearing report on Park on the 28th. Members of the United Future Party concluded that Park was unsuitable as the head of the National Intelligence Service and did not participate in the adoption of the report.
