Gwangju Nam-gu, Survey on Improving Working Conditions for Non-Regular Workers in Apartment Complexes
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) is conducting a '2021 Survey on the Demand for Improving the Working Environment of Security Guards in Apartment Complexes' to improve the working conditions of non-regular workers employed in old apartment complexes.
According to Nam-gu on the 28th, since the 27th, a demand survey has been underway targeting old apartment complexes over 20 years old with exclusive areas of 85㎡ or less within the district, to promote the improvement project for non-regular workers' working environment next year.
This demand survey will continue until the 31st, covering a total of 94 apartment complexes within the district.
Nam-gu has sent official letters to the management offices of old apartment complexes to investigate areas requiring facility improvements, and plans to identify support requests by the 31st and submit a list of apartment complexes needing working environment improvements to Gwangju City for next year.
The project costs necessary for improving the working environment of non-regular workers such as security guards will be supported 50% by city funds and 30% by district funds, with the remaining 20% borne by the apartment complexes themselves.

A Nam-gu official stated, "Issues regarding the treatment of non-regular workers in apartments arise every year, and a recent employment status report released by the Gwangju Non-Regular Employment Center also found that many workers are operating in poor conditions," adding, "We will do our best to promote the project so that the working environment of non-regular workers can be improved."
