Jeonnam Fire Headquarters Hosts 'General Public CPR Competition'
Mokpo Fire Station's Representative Yeongheung High School Team Wins... Competing in National Contest on the 5th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) held the '9th General Public Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Competition' on the 27th at the Jeonnam Fire School auditorium.
The competition featured 25 participants from 9 teams selected from fire stations across the province.
The event simulated cardiac arrest situations, where participants performed CPR and used automated external defibrillators to revive cardiac arrest patients.
This year’s competition included diverse teams such as police officers, soldiers, students, and office workers, who freely expressed cardiac arrest scenarios and response actions in the form of an 8-minute play.
Evaluation was based on stage expression, CPR sequence, accuracy, and teamwork, with scores combined to determine the winners.
Especially considering the COVID-19 situation, strict adherence to quarantine guidelines was maintained, including venue disinfection, participant temperature checks, and deployment of access control personnel. Only the minimum number of participants, including competitors and supervisors, attended the event.
The team from Yeongheung High School (Park Siyoung, Jo Kyungnan, Kim Dabin), representing Mokpo Fire Station, won the grand prize.
The Yeongheung High School team will represent Jeonnam at the nationwide '9th Korea CPR Competition' on the 5th of next month.
