United Future Party "Park Jie-won Refuses to Submit Documents... Urges Postponement of National Intelligence Service Chief Hearing"
"Serious Attempt to Disrupt Hearing... No Justifiable Reason"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 25th, the United Future Party stated regarding the confirmation hearing for Park Ji-won, Director of the National Intelligence Service, “The candidate Park unilaterally notified each intelligence committee office yesterday afternoon that he would submit the requested materials related to the confirmation hearing by 10 a.m. the day before the hearing,” and “strongly urged the postponement of the National Intelligence Service Director’s confirmation hearing.”
Lawmakers from the United Future Party’s Intelligence Committee, including Ha Tae-kyung, issued a statement that day saying, “Due to a candidate refusing to submit materials without justifiable reason, the confirmation hearing is practically impossible,” and called it a “serious attempt to sabotage the hearing.”
