Shilla University is operating a 'mental health checkup' service for students experiencing depression and lethargy due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
As the infectious disease situation has prolonged, people have become accustomed to tests and screenings for quarantine purposes such as fever checks and diagnoses, but mental health checks for depression and lethargy, which most people actually experience, have been neglected.
The university-affiliated Student Counseling Center has acted quickly to care for mental health conditions as much as infectious diseases.
Together with the Sasang-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, an online psychological testing service is being conducted until the end of July to assess levels of anxiety, depression, and stress among enrolled students experiencing difficulties in daily life due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
The process begins with psychological testing, followed by counseling programs based on the results.
The Student Counseling Center first assesses students' mental health status through online psychological tests and provides various counseling programs such as individual and group counseling as follow-up measures for those reporting difficulties like depression, lethargy, and anxiety.
