Health Authorities: "New COVID-19 Cases to Exceed 100 Tomorrow"

On the 24th, Kwon Jun-wook, Deputy Director of the Central Disease Control Headquarters, said at a regular briefing held at the Osong Disease Control Headquarters in Chungbuk, "Among the workers entering from Iraq, 89 symptomatic cases have been identified, and 32 crew members from a Russian vessel along with 5 related patients including ship repair workers have also been confirmed."
Earlier that morning, among the 293 Iraqi workers who arrived, 89 were identified as symptomatic. Deputy Director Kwon explained, "Since 89 out of the 293 are symptomatic, a significant number of confirmed cases will be identified within today."
The cluster infection on the Russian vessel is also spreading. After testing all 94 crew members, 32 tested positive, and the cumulative number of patients related to the repair workers has reached 5.

Deputy Director Kwon said, "It is highly likely that the number of new confirmed cases will exceed 100 in tomorrow's statistics," adding, "I hope no one will be too startled or surprised by the sudden increase in confirmed cases tomorrow."
