Jeongeup-si Launches 'Love Blood Donation' Campaign at City Hall Plaza
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that it held a 'Love Blood Donation Campaign' at the city hall square.
The city organized this event with the intention of encouraging employees to take the lead and set an example to overcome the difficulty in blood supply caused by the decrease in group and individual blood donations due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The 'Love Blood Donation Campaign,' held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the day, was carried out through the voluntary participation of city hall officials, related organizations, and groups.
The city continuously conducts blood donation campaigns twice a year, in the first and second halves, targeting public officials and related organizations to ensure a stable blood supply.
Additionally, the Jeongeup Blood Donation Space (located on the 2nd floor of the former Sigidong Community Center) operates every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to encourage citizens to participate in blood donation.
Any citizen can participate in blood donation, and in 2020, a total of 1,031 citizens participated in blood donation, including both group and individual donations.
Participants receive seven types of medical tests, including blood type, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, and liver function tests, as well as a gift certificate worth 5,000 KRW per blood donation.
