Ryu Hyun-jin and Choo Shin-soo Major League Baseball Live Broadcast on U+ Pro Baseball
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG Uplus announced that it will provide live streaming of Major League Baseball (MLB) games in which player Ryu Hyun-jin (33, Toronto Blue Jays) starts as a starting pitcher on its professional baseball app ‘U+Pro Baseball.’ On the 25th, in addition to Ryu Hyun-jin’s game, the season will begin with the home opener against the Colorado Rockies at 9:05 a.m., featuring player Choo Shin-soo (38, Texas Rangers).
According to LG Uplus on the 24th, U+Pro Baseball plans to broadcast up to four games per day centered on games featuring Korean MLB players during the 2020 MLB season. Users can watch MLB games on mobile through U+Pro Baseball even while commuting or on the move. Korean players currently active in MLB include Ryu Hyun-jin, Choo Shin-soo, and Choi Ji-man. Notably, Ryu Hyun-jin and Choi Ji-man (29, Tampa Bay Rays) are scheduled to face off in the opening game on the morning of the 25th.
Additionally, player Kim Kwang-hyun (32, St. Louis Cardinals) is about to make his MLB debut. The St. Louis Cardinals, to which Kim Kwang-hyun belongs, will hold their opening game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 9:15 a.m. on the 25th.
Customers can easily watch live broadcasts by accessing the U+Pro Baseball app, selecting the ‘Broadcast’ tab at the bottom of the home screen, and then entering ‘Overseas Baseball’ at the top. In addition to live broadcasts, users can check schedules of games featuring Korean MLB players, the entire MLB schedule, matchups, and highlights of past games at a glance.
U+Pro Baseball is available for free download regardless of the subscribed carrier from Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and One Store. Um Joo-sik, head of LG Uplus Baseball Service Team, said, “We are pleased to provide this service so that domestic overseas baseball fans can watch the 2020 MLB season, which was delayed due to COVID-19, anytime and anywhere as it finally opens.
