Starting from the 25th, LG Electronics will begin pre-orders for the 48-inch LG OLED TV (model name: 48CX) on the online open market 11st.
LG Electronics explained that it had first launched the 48-inch new product in regions with particularly high demand for mid-sized premium TVs, such as major European countries and Japan last month, and decided to release it domestically as consumer interest continues to grow.
The response in overseas markets where sales began earlier has also been positive. In some countries, all units except for display models in stores were sold out within the first week of release.
LG Electronics expects the 48-inch OLED TV to create new premium demand in the mid-sized TV market in addition to the traditional premium demand that prefers high definition and large sizes. This product is perfect not only for living rooms but also for use as a second TV or gaming TV in other locations.
This product features a 48-inch screen with 4K (3840x2160) resolution, achieving a pixel density comparable to that of a 96-inch 8K (7680x4320) TV. It delivers the overwhelming picture quality unique to OLED, where each pixel emits its own light, and has a denser pixel arrangement than larger models, resulting in more vivid image quality.
In particular, it is gaining attention as a gaming TV with the overwhelming picture quality and excellent response speed, which are the advantages of existing OLED TVs. NVIDIA’s G-SYNC Compatible, first applied by LG Electronics in the TV industry, synchronizes the refresh rate of an external graphics card and the TV screen to minimize screen tearing.
Additionally, this product is equipped with the AI processor α9 Gen3 that analyzes the screen itself to provide optimal video and sound, Dolby Vision IQ, and Filmmaker Mode, which are ideal for viewers to enjoy various content, carrying over the advantages of the 2020 OLED TVs previously released.
With this, LG Electronics emphasized that it now has a full lineup of OLED TVs ranging from 88, 77, 65, and 55 inches to 48 inches. Following the world’s first launch of the 88-inch 8K OLED TV last year, the release of the 48-inch model further strengthens its leadership in original OLED technology.
Daegi Son, Executive Director of Korea HE Marketing at LG Electronics, said, "We will expand customer choices so that more customers can experience the overwhelming picture quality unique to OLED TVs."
