[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] At around 11:11 a.m. on the 23rd, A (43), who went missing after being swept away by a rapid current near 10m downstream of Yerimgyo Bridge in Gagok-dong, Miryang-si, Gyeongnam, was found dead.
The Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters announced that A was found dead at a point 30m downstream of Yerimgyo Bridge at 3:07 p.m. that day.
Earlier, A had an argument with his wife B (33) over personality differences, and it was reported that wife B, in a fit of anger, jumped into the water saying she would die.
Afterwards, A followed her into the water to save her but was swept away by the rapid current and went missing. Wife B, who jumped into the river, was rescued by the fire authorities while caught in aquatic plants.
The police and fire authorities deployed about 120 personnel to search for A, but he was ultimately found deceased.
