The suspicion of the leak of the accusation against the late former mayor Park is expected to enter a new phase.
Kim Jae-ryeon, the legal representative of the victim of the late former mayor Park, stated at a second press conference held at an undisclosed location in Seoul on the morning of the 22nd that she requested a meeting with the head of the Women and Children Crime Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office a day before submitting the complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, revealing that the victim had been sexually harassed by former mayor Park.
Attorney Kim said, "I requested a meeting with the head of the Women and Children Crime Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, but I only received a general response that a meeting before the complaint submission was difficult." She added, "I requested the meeting because the victim's testimony was necessary to secure evidence, and when asked to confirm who the accused was to consider the meeting, I disclosed the accused (the late former mayor Park Won-soon)." She further noted that the victim was scheduled to meet the chief prosecutor at 3 p.m. on the 8th, but the meeting was canceled by the chief prosecutor's side on the evening of the 7th due to scheduling reasons.
Attorney Kim stated, "In the situation where the meeting was canceled, I thought it was inappropriate to file the complaint with the Central District Prosecutors' Office, so I contacted the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency." She continued, "I was told that direct investigation is possible for cases involving women, children, intellectually disabled persons, and high-ranking public officials, so I planned to submit the complaint as a case involving a high-ranking public official and requested that the investigation proceed immediately." She added, "With the complaint and evidence in hand, the victim and I went to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and were investigated until dawn the next day."
Earlier, the victim submitted a complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 8th of this month, accusing the late former mayor Park Won-soon of sexual harassment and other charges. The late former mayor Park was last seen leaving his official residence the next morning and lost contact. Around midnight that day, he was found dead by suicide in the forest near Sukjeongmun at Bukaksan Mountain. This led to suspicions that the late former mayor Park may have learned about the accusation in advance and made an extreme choice, raising concerns about a 'leak of the accusation.'
The police stated that, according to regulations requiring reporting important cases to the Blue House, they reported the victim's complaint submission to the Blue House, but the possibility of a leak during this process was raised.

In particular, it was reported that Im Soon-young, Seoul City's Gender Advisor, asked the late former mayor Park about an hour before the accusation, "Did something unfortunate happen?" and it was later revealed that the victim inquired with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency about whether to file a complaint. This has focused attention on how the late former mayor Park's side obtained information about the accusation. Conservative groups have filed complaints, claiming that the suspicion of the leak constitutes a breach of official secrets, and the prosecution is currently investigating the case.
