Junggyeonryeon Celebrates 6th Anniversary of Legal Entity Establishment
Quiz Event to Be Held on Junggyeonryeon Official Facebook for Two Weeks Starting from the 22nd
The Korea Association of Medium & Large Business (hereinafter referred to as KAMLB) has marked the 6th anniversary of its establishment as a statutory organization. KAMLB began in September 1992 as the Korea Economic Leaders Association and transitioned into a statutory organization on July 22, 2014, following the enforcement of the "Special Act on the Promotion of Growth and Enhancement of Competitiveness of Medium & Large Enterprises" (abbreviated as the Medium & Large Enterprises Special Act).
On the 22nd, KAMLB announced that as the sole statutory organization representing 4,635 medium and large enterprises, it plays a role in improving the management environment and strengthening the competitiveness of medium and large enterprises. In particular, KAMLB explained that it broadly collects practical and specific demands from the field and communicates closely with the government, the National Assembly, and others. It also works to enhance policy effectiveness and actively cooperates with related ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to promote support projects aimed at boosting the capabilities of medium and large enterprises.
Specifically, KAMLB has led numerous legal and institutional improvements, including the establishment of a new bracket for medium and large enterprises in research and development and investment tax credits, allowing initial participation of medium and large enterprises in the public procurement market, and protecting subcontractors as recipients of payment for subcontracted work. Additionally, it promotes various projects supporting innovation, capability enhancement, and sustainable growth of medium and large enterprises, such as the "Korean-style Technology Problem Solving Platform," "Core Talent Development Academy for Medium & Large Enterprises," "Medium & Large Enterprises Job Fair," "Consulting Service for Sustainable Corporate Growth," "Medium & Large Enterprises Heatwave," and "Medium & Large Enterprises CEO Breakfast Lecture Series."
To commemorate the enforcement of the Medium & Large Enterprises Special Act and the establishment of KAMLB as a statutory organization, the "Medium & Large Enterprises Day" ceremony, held annually on July 22 since 2015, has been held during the "Medium & Large Enterprises Week" in the third week of November since 2018, following the transfer of medium and large enterprise policies to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in 2017. At this year’s ceremony scheduled for November 18, government awards will be presented to medium and large enterprise leaders who have contributed to the development of South Korea’s economy and industry, and plaques of merit will be given to veteran medium and large enterprise leaders who have contributed to the advancement of the medium and large enterprise sector. Outstanding companies that have grown into medium and large enterprises through continuous innovation will be awarded the "Medium & Large Enterprise Growth Tower."
KAMLB will also hold an online event suited to the untact (contactless) era to celebrate the 6th anniversary of its establishment as a statutory organization. From today until August 4, a two-week "Who Am I? Quiz Event" will be held on the official Facebook page. Participants who post correct quiz answers in the Facebook comments will have a chance to receive prizes such as cultural gift certificates worth 100,000 KRW, and exchange vouchers for Paris Baguette and Ediya Coffee.
