Shinsegae Food Partners with Local Governments to Create a New Win-Win Model

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Shinsegae Food announced on the 22nd that it has signed a win-win cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, introducing a new win-win model with the local government.
At the signing ceremony held the previous day at Sinan-gun Office in Amhae-eup, Sinan-gun, about 20 officials including Park Woo-ryang, Sinan-gun Governor, and Min Jung-sik, Executive Director in charge of Shinsegae Food Olban LAB, attended, where the MOU for win-win cooperation on commercialization using Sinan-gun specialties and development of dining-out menus was signed.
Through this agreement, Shinsegae Food will provide technical support for the commercialization and packaging development of Sinan-gun specialties such as onions, peanuts, garlic, and green onions, based on the excellent research and development capabilities of its comprehensive food research institute Olban LAB. In addition, Shinsegae Food will actively cooperate in comprehensive promotional activities including storytelling about Sinan-gun specialties. At the same time, Sinan-gun will spare no cooperation and support for supplying excellent Sinan-gun specialties boasting the largest area of organic certification and for the development of processed products for Shinsegae Food.
In particular, Shinsegae Food has been conducting consulting for dining-out menu development for the ‘Art Island of Taste’ project promoted by Sinan-gun since last year, creating synergy through cooperation across Sinan-gun’s entire food business. Both parties expect that this agreement will increase the added value of local specialties and significantly boost farmers’ income.
