Gimhae City Holds Report Meeting on Pledge Progress Two Years After Launch of the 7th Elected Term
80 out of 161 Promises Completed... Promise Fulfillment Rate 49.7%

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, held a "Mayor's Pledge Progress Report Meeting" on the 21st at the city hall small conference room to mark the 2nd anniversary of the launch of the 7th local government administration. About 50 people, including Mayor Heo Seong-gon, senior officials, and the citizen pledge evaluation group, attended the meeting.
This report meeting was conducted to review the implementation status of pledge projects over the two years of the 7th local government administration, discuss continuous promotion plans for completed projects, analyze issues of underperforming projects, and hold a Q&A session with the citizen pledge evaluation group.
The pledge implementation rate showed 49.7%, with 80 out of a total of 161 projects completed across four major areas: job and economic city, Gaya culture and education city, hopeful welfare city, and eco-friendly future city.
Major completed projects include ▲designation of the medical and life science device small-scale research and development special zone ▲hosting the 2024 National Sports Festival ▲certification as an international safe city ▲construction of the Gyeongnam Contents Enterprise Incubation Center ▲introduction of the Gimhae-type youth card ▲creation of youth malls ▲construction of the Eastern Dementia Relief Center ▲operation of Gimhae citizen safety insurance ▲expansion of the crosswalk voice guidance system (for the visually impaired) ▲opening of urban planning roads in the Bubong district, among others.
Mayor Heo said, “Pledge projects are promises to our citizens. I am grateful to the employees who have faithfully carried out their duties despite the COVID-19 situation and to the citizen pledge evaluation group who provided valuable advice to ensure the pledges are promoted. For the major pledges that have not yet been completed, we will concentrate administrative capabilities and successfully promote them to create a Gimhae that citizens can truly feel.”
