Gwangju Urban Railway Obtains National Certification for Railway Vehicle Maintenance Organization
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (President Yoon Jin-bo) announced on the 21st that it has become the first in the Honam region to obtain the ‘National Certification for Railway Vehicle Maintenance Organization’ from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in the field of urban railway vehicle maintenance.
The ‘Railway Vehicle Maintenance Organization Certification System’ is a system in which the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport inspects and certifies whether an organization is qualified to maintain railway vehicles to improve maintenance quality and ensure the safety of railway operations.
To obtain this certification, 91 employees of the corporation were recognized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in March for their railway vehicle maintenance experience and acquired qualifications as railway vehicle maintenance technicians. The corporation has also organized related systems and standardized maintenance quality management procedures according to the certification standards for maintenance organizations.
Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation plans to thoroughly manage and prepare for the annual certification maintenance audits going forward.
