In the hearing report, the committee stated, "He has extensive experience in police administration and has expressed his commitment to police reform tasks such as investigative structure reform and autonomous police." It added, "There were no significant flaws regarding the nominee's personal background and morality, so it is judged that there are no particular issues concerning his ability and qualifications to perform the duties as Commissioner General of the National Police Agency."
However, it pointed out, "There were criticisms about a lack of gender sensitivity and understanding of victims' human rights, and concerns were raised about whether political neutrality can be maintained due to personnel appointments based on connections with the appointing authority."

The committee also approved an agenda requesting the attendance of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Intelligence Management Division Superintendent and the Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Women and Family Policy Office at the plenary session on the 28th, regarding the sexual harassment allegations against the late former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon.
