[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…'Major Queen' Park Hyun-kyung (20, Korea Land & Trust, photo) has risen to 30th in the world rankings.
In the weekly women's golf world rankings announced on the afternoon of the 20th (Korean time), she earned 2.36 points and improved her ranking. The U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour had frozen the world rankings since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic but recalculated them after about four months. The results of seven Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour events and one Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour event held since May were reflected.
Park Hyun-kyung jumped from 94th to 52nd after winning the major KLPGA Championship in May, and then rose to 30th after securing her second win of the season at the IS Dongseo Busan Open earlier this month. Ko Jin-young (25) remains first (8.26 points), Nelly Korda (USA) second (5.85 points), Park Sung-hyun (27) third (5.57 points), and Danielle Kang (USA) fourth (5.32 points), with no changes in the top ranks. Korea's Kim Sei-young (27, Mirae Asset) is 6th (5.10 points), and Kim Hyo-joo (25, Lotte) is 10th (4.42 points), both in the 'Top 10.'
