Real-Time Online Courses at Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center and More
Online Lifelong Learning Courses on Smartphone and Internet Usage via YouTube, Classical Literature History, and Indian Culture
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Amid the suspension of various on-site lectures and educational programs due to COVID-19, Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) is providing a variety of non-face-to-face lectures to residents who feel a thirst for learning.
With the prolonged COVID-19 situation leading to the closure of the ‘Resident Informatization Education Center,’ the district has been conducting 'Online Resident Informatization Education' through its YouTube channel since July to continuously offer informatization education opportunities to residents.
On the YouTube channels ‘Dongdaemun-gu Education Center (1?2?3?4),’ 24 courses are offered free of charge, including ▲Smartphone Usage ▲Internet Usage ▲Excel Usage ▲DIAT (Digital Information Utilization Ability) Certification classes.
In particular, the smartphone usage content demonstrates how to order goods via smartphone and use health-related apps, aiming to help residents in their daily lives.
Previously, at the Resident Informatization Education Center, not all students who wished to attend could do so due to space limitations, but the online informatization education is conducted via YouTube live broadcasts, allowing anyone to easily attend the lectures.
Detailed schedules for each channel can be checked on the Dongdaemun-gu Office website.
To minimize the lifelong learning gap caused by the long-term closure of the ‘Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center,’ online lifelong learning courses are also provided.
The main courses include ▲YouTube Creator ▲History of Classical Literature ▲India through Keywords, among five courses, running until September 17.
Online courses can be accessed via smartphone or PC, and since they are conducted as live lectures, immediate communication with instructors is possible.
Residents wishing to enroll can apply for courses on the Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center website.
The district expects that the various online courses will satisfy residents’ learning desires and help alleviate COVID-blue (depression).
