Boseong-gun Takes Steps to Establish Public Service Discipline to Prevent COVID-19 Spread
Special Measures Following Jeonnam COVID-19 Case No. 35, Emphasis on Public Officials Leading by Example
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, issued a special directive to establish public service discipline on the 19th following the occurrence of a COVID-19 confirmed case.
According to Boseong-gun on the 20th, this special directive applies to all public officials under the county and requires all public officials to exemplary implement the strengthened social distancing level 2 measures to fully focus on preventing the spread of COVID-19.
First, △Lunch hours are staggered by 30 minutes per floor to eat side by side at a certain distance without facing each other. △Commuting to and visiting outside areas is minimized as much as possible, and employees commuting from outside are requested to refrain from going out after work.
△Attendance at various gatherings among employees, visits to wedding halls and funeral homes are prohibited, and visits to religious facilities are discouraged. △Due to concerns about airborne infection, air conditioner usage guidelines are followed and offices are ventilated regularly. △Business trips are refrained from except for urgent cases. △Visits by civil petitioners from inside and outside the county to the county office are prohibited, and in unavoidable cases, meetings are held at separate reception locations.
△All employees inside and outside the government building must wear masks, and if symptoms such as fever are suspected, employee leave and annual leave are handled according to service guidelines. △Each department measures all employees’ temperatures twice a day, summer vacations are conducted as dispersed as possible, and rest at home is encouraged. △All meetings and face-to-face approvals are suspended and electronic approvals are used. △Residents are actively guided to refrain from visiting other regions and to comply with COVID-19 prevention rules.
The county plans to strongly enforce the special directive to establish public service discipline until the COVID-19 situation improves, and will strictly discipline any violations detected through focused inspections.
Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, "COVID-19 is no longer a story of other cities, and since one confirmed case has occurred in our county, all employees should firmly establish the fundamental attitude of public officials prioritizing the safety and protection of the lives of the residents."
