Korea Development Bank Supports Arirang TV's 'K-Tech Innovator' Production
Support for Outstanding Startups' Overseas Expansion and Global Marketing
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Korea Development Bank (KDB) announced on the 20th that it will support the production of Arirang TV's overseas broadcast program 'K-Tech Innovators' to assist startups in expanding overseas and supporting global marketing.
Arirang TV's 'K-Tech Innovators' will air from the 21st of this month to September 22nd, every Tuesday at 7:30 AM, for a total of 10 episodes. It will introduce 30 promising companies worldwide in 105 countries, including 27 companies invested by KDB and 3 companies newly participating in the accelerating program KDB NextONE. NextONE is KDB's own incubation program, which selected 15 companies for the first time this year and plans to provide one-stop services such as incubation, consulting, and financing within Mapo Innovation Town (FRONT1).
This program was produced based on Arirang TV's global expertise and overseas network to deliver the innovative technologies and dynamic, vivid business scenes of Korean startups to overseas markets.
Above all, it is explained that this program is meaningful for companies with relatively insufficient overseas expansion capabilities, as it helps promising startups struggling with overseas expansion due to COVID-19 secure non-face-to-face marketing and sales channels, and the produced videos can be used as content for startups to attract investment (IR) and conduct overseas marketing.
A KDB official said, "We will establish a support system tailored to the entire lifecycle of startups, including discovering excellent startups, supporting startup activation, investing in companies with innovative technologies, and supporting scale-up, and will continuously provide necessary financial and non-financial services to startups that will be the cornerstone of future national competitiveness."
Meanwhile, KDB has supplied a total of 234 billion KRW in combined investment and financing as of the end of June this year, including 67 billion KRW to help startups overcome the crisis amid a significant downturn in investment sentiment caused by COVID-19.

In the first half of this year, KDB converted a total of 36 KDB Next Round sessions to a non-face-to-face format, providing investment opportunities to 129 companies. Additionally, on the 23rd and 24th of last month, KDB successfully held 'NextRise 2020, Seoul,' the largest startup fair in Korea, conducting approximately 1,700 investment consultations, thereby promoting the revitalization of the domestic venture ecosystem, which had been depressed due to COVID-19.
