Haenam Dinosaur Museum Holds National Character Calligraphy Contest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan) announced on the 19th that it will hold the 1st National Character Calligraphy Contest.
The contest evaluates original characters themed around Haenam and dinosaurs along with matching calligraphy. Characters can be expressed through illustrations, graphics, drawings, hand-drawn art, sketches, etc., and calligraphy should include titles, copy, or famous quotes.
Each participant can submit up to 3 works, and the work size should be freely expressed on paper of size 8-cut or larger. However, calligraphy must be primarily in Korean.
Divided into general and student categories, a total of 20 winners will receive the Haenam-gun Governor's Award along with cultural gift certificates ranging from 50,000 to 300,000 KRW. Winning works will be used in special exhibitions at the Haenam Dinosaur Museum.
Anyone can apply, and submissions can be made by visiting or mailing to the Haenam Dinosaur Museum by September 10. Results will be individually notified to winners on September 22.
