Gangdong-gu Supports 'Safe Home 4 Types' Including Window Locks for Single Female Households
Promotion of Safe Single Zone (SS Zone) Project for Single Female Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is collaborating with the Gangdong-gu Saemaeul Women's Association to support the installation of the ‘Safe Home 4-piece Set’ to establish a safety net for single female households.
In May, the district applied for the ‘2020 Women’s Safe Village’ project hosted by Seoul City and was finally selected for the Safe Single Zone (SS Zone) creation project for single female households.
Accordingly, the district will support the installation of four safety devices in about 100 single female households living in multi-family houses and one-room apartments, and install safety bells at Angel Workshop single female stores and the Herb Center in the Seongan-ro area of Gangdong-gu.
The Safe Home 4-piece Set consists of ▲‘Smart Doorbell’ with real-time visitor verification and automatic recording function via smartphone ▲‘Auxiliary Door Lock’ that allows double locking in addition to the door lock ▲‘Door Opening Sensor’ that sends a text message to acquaintances with an alarm sound if the door or window is forcibly opened ▲‘Window Lock Device’ that prevents unauthorized intrusion through windows.
The support target is single female households renting in Gangdong-gu, and applications will be accepted from the 20th until the sets are exhausted.
The application form will be posted on the Gangdong-gu Office website from the 20th, and applicants can submit it along with the required documents via email to the person in charge or by visiting the Women and Family Division of Gangdong-gu Office (25 Seongnae-ro, 5th floor). Preliminary inspections for installation will be conducted by the Gangdong-gu Saemaeul Women's Association.
Additionally, Gangdong-gu will install ‘Safety Bells’ at 18 single female stores in Angel Workshop located in the Seongan-ro area and at the Herb Center. In case of an emergency, pressing the bell immediately connects to the district office CCTV control center, enabling the police to promptly dispatch to the scene.
Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon of Gangdong-gu stated, “We will continuously implement practical support measures at the district level to prevent the rapidly increasing crimes against women and do our best to create a women-friendly city where women can live safely.”
