The Gwangju Northern Police Station announced on the 17th that they have requested arrest warrants for Park Mo (21) and his girlfriend Yoo Mo (23) on charges of habitual cruel acts and violence causing injury (special injury) against a school senior.
The two are accused of repeatedly assaulting their middle school senior, Mr. A, at their home in Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, from February to June, causing injuries requiring more than eight weeks of treatment.
Park invited Mr. A, who was in his hometown of Gwangju, to live and work together at his home in Pyeongtaek City, but when living expenses became insufficient, he began to assault him, according to the investigation.
Initially, the assaults were relatively mild, such as hitting with fists, but as Mr. A did not resist, the severity gradually increased. The Park couple also subjected Mr. A to cruel acts such as swinging blunt objects and pouring boiling water on his body.
Due to these assaults, Mr. A suffered third-degree burns and skin necrosis, among other serious injuries.
Afterward, Mr. A escaped from the Park couple and returned to his hometown, and his parents reported to the police after seeing their son covered in wounds.
