On the 17th, LG Electronics announced the launch of the UNICEF-exclusive model, the LG PuriCare Up & Down Water Purifier, and stated that for each customer who purchases and uses the product, LG will donate 24,000 KRW annually for three years, totaling 72,000 KRW, to UNICEF in the customer's name.
This donation was made through a sponsorship agreement ceremony held two days ago, attended by Lee Ki-chul, Secretary General of the UNICEF Korea Committee, and Jung Soon-gi, head of LG Electronics’ water purifier business.
LG Electronics proposed this agreement to UNICEF to promote a culture of giving and to raise awareness of the PuriCare water purifier. The idea is that customers can contribute to social responsibility through their purchase and use of the product.
The new product is identical in design, function, and performance to the LG PuriCare Up & Down Water Purifier introduced by LG Electronics in September last year. However, the water outlet can move up, down, left, and right, and both the outlet and the base can rotate up to 180 degrees horizontally.
This product features ▲an automatic up-and-down water outlet movement function that dispenses water after moving vertically ▲a two-stage composite filter that removes impurities and harmful substances while retaining minerals in the water ▲a cleanliness lamp that indicates filter replacement timing by color ▲and a 'UVnano Safe Sterilization' function that sterilizes the cork every hour and allows easy use with a single button.
According to tests conducted by the Korea Conformity Laboratories and the Korea Testing & Research Institute, the safe sterilization function removes 99.99% of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the company stated.
Users who subscribe to the Care Solution service can receive a free replacement of the direct water pipe inside the purifier once a year. Additionally, a Care Solution manager visits every three months to thoroughly manage hygiene by sterilizing the product 99.99% through high-temperature sterilization and high-pressure cleaning.
The new product is rated as a Grade 1 energy efficiency product. It is available for purchase at Hi-Mart, Electronic Land, E-Mart, Homeplus, and other retailers. The price is the same as the existing model, approximately 1,320,000 KRW, and includes the Care Solution service for three years.
