The Local Government-University Cooperation-Based Regional Innovation Project is a government-supported initiative where local governments, universities, high schools, companies, and other regional institutions form a ‘regional innovation platform’ to improve overall living conditions such as education and employment in the region. The Ministry of Education is actively promoting this project to overcome the crisis of declining local university students and regional extinction caused by low birth rates, aging population, and population concentration in the metropolitan area.
