Gimje City Council Decides Disciplinary Action for Male and Female Councilors Involved in 'Adultery'
Expulsion of Male Lawmaker, Referral of Female Lawmaker to Ethics Committee
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] A male council member of Gimje City Council in Jeonbuk, who sparked public outrage due to an affair scandal, has ultimately been expelled.
On the 16th, the Gimje City Council held the 240th extraordinary session and decided to expel the male council member who had been referred to the Ethics Special Committee.
On that day, the council conducted a closed vote for and against; out of 14 total council members, 12 attended, with 11 votes in favor and 1 abstention, resulting in the final expulsion of the male council member.
Subsequently, the council requested disciplinary action against a female council member and decided to refer her case to the Ethics Special Committee.
The meeting regarding the expulsion of the female council member is scheduled to take place at 2 PM.
