View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 16th that it distributed 'Book Start Book Packages' to 424 first-grade students in 17 elementary schools within the district to promote reading culture.
Elementary Book Start is a program newly implemented this year targeting first graders in elementary school. It is part of age-specific and life-cycle reading programs designed to provide children with opportunities to grow healthily through books and to cultivate lifelong reading habits.
The book package consists of two picture books selected by Book Start Korea, a reading guide for parents, the Hanmaeum Library newsletter, and a book bag.
Choi Young-ho, Deputy Governor, said at the delivery ceremony, "I hope the Elementary Book Start Book Package project will serve as an opportunity for children to feel more familiar with books and libraries," and added, "We will ensure equal opportunities for reading activities for residents to improve their quality of life."

In the future, reading emotional drawing activities will be conducted as post-reading activities and exhibited at the Geochang-gun Hanmaeum Library.
