On the 16th (Korean time), Golf.com reported, "The LPGA Tour is planning to allow 2,000 spectators per day at the Marathon Classic held on September 8 in Sylvania, Ohio," adding, "A final decision will be made within this week." Mike Whan, LPGA Tour Commissioner, said, "There will also be a pro-am event over two days." The LPGA Tour has been suspended since the Australian Women's Open in February due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The schedule will resume after about five months with the Drive On Championship at the end of this month. The U.S. Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Tour is also considering allowing spectators starting with the U.S. Open scheduled for September 17. Jay Monahan, PGA Tour Commissioner, explained, "The United States Golf Association (USGA), which hosts the U.S. Open, is discussing spectator attendance with New York State, the venue for this year's tournament." The PGA Tour will hold its first event of the 2020/2021 season, the Safeway Open on September 10, without spectators.
