Gimje-si 'Military Service Youth Accident Insurance' Ensures Safe Military Life
Do Not Worry About Injuries During Vacation or Outings
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Military personnel residing in Gimje-si, Jeonbuk, will now be guaranteed a safe military life.
According to the city on the 15th, following the promulgation of the 'Partial Amendment to the Population Policy and Support Ordinance,' the 'Military Personnel Injury Insurance Support Project' has been officially launched, benefiting about 150 soldiers working in the Gimje area.
The insurance enrollment targets are active-duty young people (Army, Navy, Air Force), conscripted police, conscripted maritime police, conscripted firefighters, and full-time reservists who have their resident registration in Gimje-si and are serving in the military; social service agents and professional soldiers are excluded.
The insurance premium for military personnel injury insurance is paid in bulk by the city, and enrollment is automatic upon enlistment without a separate registration process, and it is automatically canceled upon discharge.
The 'Military Personnel Injury Insurance' also covers injuries sustained during leave or outings while on military service, and in case of injury, treatment costs paid by the military can be compensated in overlap with personal insurance.
Detailed coverage includes injury and disease death, injury and disease disability each up to 30 million KRW, injury and disease hospitalization at 30,000 KRW per day, fracture and burn diagnosis fees of 300,000 KRW per case, stroke and acute myocardial infarction diagnosis fees of 3 million KRW each, traumatic amputation diagnosis fee of 1 million KRW, and consolation money for mental illness of 500,000 KRW, among others.
