Professor Namgung Moon of Wonkwang University Awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award
Contributing to the Advancement of the Civil Engineering Field
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] Professor Namgung Moon of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the College of Creative Engineering, Wonkwang University, received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award in recognition of his contributions to the development of the civil engineering field in Korea at the Civil Engineering Day ceremony held by the Korean Society of Civil Engineers on the 10th.
According to Wonkwang University on the 15th, Professor Namgung Moon focuses on education and research in the transportation sector within civil engineering and has served as a director of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers and as the president of the Jeonbuk branch of the society.

Professor Namgung has contributed to various fields, including high-speed rail planning, road traffic safety, and autonomous vehicle research considering human factors of drivers. Recently, in response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, he has been interested in education for nurturing talent with problem-solving skills, working on building a model for ‘field-based teaching and learning methods’ and making efforts to attract Iksan Station as the starting point of the Eurasia railway.
