Eunpyeong-gu Holds Online Residents' General Assembly Case Sharing Meeting
Online Resident Assembly Case Sharing Meeting for Local Governments Nationwide to Be Held at 2 PM on the 14th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will hold an online residents' general assembly case-sharing meeting for local governments nationwide at 2 p.m. on the 14th.
Despite the difficulty of holding large-scale events due to COVID-19, the district conducted the 2021 policy task selection residents' general assembly online on June 20 to reflect the core values of the Eunpyeong-type resident participatory budgeting system, which are public discussion and deliberation, successfully concluding with enthusiastic participation from many residents.
The district planned the case-sharing meeting to share the achievements and development potential of this online residents' general assembly process with other local governments and to exchange opinions on non-face-to-face public discussion and deliberation due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and is accepting participation applications from local governments nationwide.

An official from Eunpyeong-gu stated, “The district has played a leading role in the development of the resident participatory budgeting system through various practical attempts for resident participation, such as holding the first residents' general assembly nationwide in 2011 and introducing mobile voting in 2012. We hope that Eunpyeong-gu's case will be helpful to other local governments in non-face-to-face (untact) resident participation amid COVID-19.”
